Post subject: understanding "salat", "salawat", and other related words
# okay bro...i found ur article pretty useful...
...however i would like to clarify something....also cuz it might help clear some confusion (for me) about salat!
# u said that the ritual salat is mentioned using two words "aqam alsalat"...in that case what do u think of the verses where only the word "salat" is mentioned but not "aqam"? like say 24:41....do u think such verses also refer to the ritual salat or to something else? (-:
and in 75:31..what do u think salla means?
75:31 Fala saddaqa wala salla
# also bro..what do the following verses say:
2:157 Ola-ika AAalayhim salawatun min rabbihim warahmatun waola-ika humu almuhtadoona
# also...what do u think "musalleen" means?
...who perform the ritual salat or something else?
## i know i ve asked a number of things...hopefully i ll benefit from ur views, and those of other members! (-:
### thanks for the patience.... (-:
# salam bro! (-:

# okay bro...i think this is possibly going away from the original topic (shirk) to 1 about the word "salat".....so if u want u can have this thread split so that v dont mix up 2 different issues! (-:

I do believe when the noun Salat or its verb is mentioned, it shoud apply to both Salats, the ritual and the other communication where you seek Allah to bless someone or even yourself

in that verse i believe it means both

See, that verse confirm that Allah salat on the believers means the blessings and forgiveness He does to the believers
This means more of the ritual salal because the word Hafizoon, i.e. it is compuslsory, however I see no contradiction that it can mean both salats

It has to be more of those who perform the ritual salat, however anyone who is a true believer and perform the ritual salat shuld be doing the other salat as well therefore I see no contradiction that the words Musalleen covers both or at least the ones who do ritual salat
