16:61 If God were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature: but He gives them respite for a stated Term: When their Term expires, they would not be able to delay (the punishment) for a single hour, just as they would not be able to anticipate it (for a single hour).
When we see a bad human getting into trouble/disease or horrible death, its a commonly said that this was Allah's punishment for his wrong doing. Now after reading 16:61 Im under impression that Allah's punishment starts after death and whatever good/bad happens in this life is nothing more than a test.
Can anyone be kind to explain me.

Salam bro
16:61 is talking about the punsishemnt of the JD not the punsishment of this life, on the other hand you have to know that when we die it is like the JD has started because there will be no time feeling during the death period and that is what 16:61 is talking about, it is about sending the people to the JD through the death transit, on the other hand 16:61 does not deny the fact that Allah does this already with many, in fact the last big tsunami is an example, but that does not violate 16:61 because 16:61 denied that Allah will do it TO EVERYONE at once rather some of them, on the other hand when the game is over it will surely happen to every one alive at that time and they will all be sent to their death then the JD sort of seconds later
Anything bad/hard happening in this life is not punishment but part of a test ?

Salam mate
I know 100% that anything bad/good in this life is part of the test as the Quran told us:
Every soul shall have a taste of death: and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial. to Us must ye return. [The Quran ; 21:35]
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَنَبْلُوكُم بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَيْرِ فِتْنَةً وَإِلَيْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ (35)
-> See, "and We test you by evil and by good by way of trial", but can you also see how death was mentioned in the verse :"Every soul shall have a taste of death"
Regarding being a punishment, well, of course it can aso be as such, in fact a punsihment can be considered a test
I understood what you said. Forgive me brother for repeating but once again;
16:61 If God were to punish men for their wrong-doing, He would not leave, on the (earth), a single living creature:
Doesnt this mean that Allah does not punishes us on earth / in this life?

Can it be that He punishes some in this life and some in afterlife ? If so then there are more questions

The verse abive is talking about the ultimate punishment (the final and eternal one)

No it does not because the verse is talking about the ultimate punishment after the end of Judgment

Of course He does punish anyone in this life, if it was death then this is the ultimate punishment
remember the story of Al Khidr whom Moses trvelled with, in there we read that Al Khidr killed a kafir son and when Moses asked him why?, he replied that he was kafir and was going to give his believeing parents a very hard time so Allah wanted to replace him with a better child, obvioulsy this kafir son was sent to his ultimate punishment, on the other hand there are less punishments that Allah may inflict on anyone in this life if death was not part of the punishment, because death means starting the ultimate punishment
so if Allah wanted to punish all sinners ultimatley as they sin in this life, they would have been sent to their death to start the ultimate punishment and no one would have left, however He left the ultimate punishment to an appointed time and on that day all humnas will receive their ultimate punishments and of course no one would have been left on earth on the JD
The verse is very accurate actually but I have to agree it is a very deep verse
