Al-Qareaa (The Knocking Event)
Translation
Verses 1-11
بِسْمِ اللّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.
الْقَارِعَةُ (1)
The knocking event.
[Al Quran ; 101:1]
مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (2)
What is the knocking event?
[Al Quran ; 101:2]
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْقَارِعَةُ (3)
And what can make you realize what is the knocking event?
[Al Quran ; 101:3]
يَوْمَ يَكُونُ النَّاسُ كَالْفَرَاشِ الْمَبْثُوثِ (4)
The day the people will be like dispersed moths.
[Al Quran ; 101:4]
وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ الْمَنْفُوشِ (5)
And the mountains will be like fluffed wool.
[Al Quran ; 101:5]
فَأَمَّا مَنْ ثَقُلَتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (6)
And as for one whose scales are heavy.
[Al Quran ; 101:6]
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَاضِيَةٍ (7)
Then he will be in pleasant life.
[Al Quran ; 101:7]
وَأَمَّا مَنْ خَفَّتْ مَوَازِينُهُ (8)
And as for one whose scales are light.
[Al Quran ; 101:8]
فَأُمُّهُ هَاوِيَةٌ (9)
Then his refuge will be Hawia.
[Al Quran ; 101:9]
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا هِيَهْ (10)
And what can make you realize what is it?
[Al Quran ; 101:10]
نَارٌ حَامِيَةٌ (11)
(It is) a hot fire.
[Al Quran ; 101:11]
