I think we need to be very careful when we relate modern science (or frontier science in this case) to religious issues. Being in Physics myself I know all too well when people (alot of the stime having a very weak or too general an understanding of the science they're mentioning) pinning this to religious things. Don't get me wrong, I'm not ruling this case out, just saying be careful.
